New Nature Experiences!

We have had so many wonderful experiences in nature! Here is just some of what we’ve been up to…

At our Kindergarten program

The Kindergarten children visited Indigiscapes @ Capalaba recently to explore the natural environment and learn about Indigenous culture. Ruth, our guide, showed us the soap and sandpaper trees which is used by the indigenous people, as well as helping us spot wildlife such as turtles, birds, and water dragons.

We listened to the sounds we could hear in the environment and heard a wallaby hopping nearby. We learnt to appreciate trees even more when we heard about the 400 year old Tallowwood tree which has a protection order on it, we sat under and looked at its features.

Bush Kindy with our Pre-Kindy children

During our Bush Kindy sessions the Pre-Kindy children were gathering natural items to take back to the centre to use in our natural displays

Bush Kindy with our Toddler children

At Bush Kindy the Toddler children used natural items to make banging noises on the chair, they noticed it is like the percussion rhythms they do in our playground. Together they sang songs and played their music with the sticks and rocks.

Outdoors with our nursery!

The smooth back and forth motion of swinging is incredibly calming for a child. It makes children feel safe and soothes over stimulated senses. Our Nursery children love exploring the swings in the playground.
